3 Lady Ubuntu Women of Africa Bowl
Zulu and Xhosa Women of Africa
The Ubuntu bowl is an African version of the Friendship Bowl. Female figures hold hands around the rim of a hand thrown bowl, in a spirit of unity, wearing their traditional African headscarves with their babies on their backs.
The word UBUNTU means "the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity". "I am what I am because of who we all are." In Africa, the definition of an individual is community based and not individualist. These bowls represent this philosophy.
Hand made in Cape Town by local women from the Masiphumulele township.
These items are hand crafted so each design and color may vary slightly.
